October 6, 2017: Minnesota Manufacturers’ Summit

AdvancedTek joins the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce as they celebrate the successes and explore the challenges facing Minnesota manufacturers. The annual Manufacturers’ Summit will be October 6th as Manufacturing Day is celebrated across the country.

Jim Snee, president and CEO of Hormel, will deliver the keynote address. Gain insight into the company’s track record of success and hear his outlook for continued growth.

Two panels will address hot topics in the industry:

Growing apprenticeships in manufacturing: Apprenticeship programs are not only a recruitment and retention tool, but, according to the Department of Labor, companies with apprenticeship programs see increased productivity, reduced waste and greater innovation. Panelists confirmed to date are Jessica Looman, deputy commissioner with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, and Jaci Dukowitz, director of human resources, training and development, sales and marketing at UMC, Inc.

Using smart manufacturing to leverage productivity and profits: The “Internet of Things” is revolutionizing manufacturing, allowing companies to improve efficiency and increase productivity.  Panelists confirmed to date are Matt Russo, senior director of product security at Medtronic, and Derek Wallace, director of product management, at Multi-Tech Systems, Inc.
